History:
The Jollyboat was designed by Uffa Fox to fulfil the need for a boat that he could sail more easily in his latter years. Instead, the Jollyboat became famous as the fastest dinghy of its day, when in 1954, Charles Currey recorded a measured speed of 13.4kts (though later on that year, on Egbaston Reservoir, Ralph Vines recorded a speed of 17.8 kts. The Jollyboat was the first Fairey dinghy to move away from wood to GRP construction.
